LeukoPax Donor Qualification and Collection

When you visit the LeukoPax center for a Qualification Appointment, we will first obtain your consent to participate in the screening and collections process. Next, we will ask you screening questions similar to those used for blood or plasma donation and collect a blood sample for testing.

You will receive a $75 reimbursement for your time, as the appointment typically takes about one hour to complete.

• You will only complete one Qualification Appointment, but will renew your consent to participate at least once per year.

If your blood cells pass specialized tests demonstrating their enhanced activity and potential for future therapeutic use, we will invite you back to the LeukoPax center for an Eligibility Appointment. During this appointment, you will answer screening questions, have your vital signs taken, and undergo blood testing for relevant infectious diseases.

You will receive a $50 reimbursement for your time, as this appointment typically takes about 30 minutes to complete.

• You will complete the screening questions and infectious disease testing at least once every 90 days to remain eligible for leukopak collections.

When a laboratory or company places an order for a leukopak and you 1) meet the eligibility criteria and 2) are available, you will be scheduled for a Collection Appointment at the LeukoPax center. During this appointment, you will complete screening questions, have your vital signs taken, and then have a needle placed in one arm and an IV placed in the other arm or hand. This setup facilitates the apheresis collection process, which typically takes 3-5 hours, depending on your size and the number of white blood cells in your blood.

The LeukoPax staff are dedicated to minimizing your time at the collection center. You will receive a $400 reimbursement for your time spent completing this appointment.

• According to the FDA, you can participate in up to 16 leukopak collections per year, at minimum once every 3 weeks.
